GrowYourBase (GYB) is a leading global metaverse developer across all major worlds and communities, starting with The Sandbox. The Sandbox is a user-generated gaming platform where creators can create assets and gaming experiences to monetize them on the Ethereum blockchain. Imagine Minecraft meets Roblox on the blockchain.
In order to achieve the goal of being the preeminent metaverse builder, GYB is building an industry-leading low-poly and voxel game development studio, MetaVenture Studios (MVS). MVS is focused on The Sandbox, designing and building games and experiences for both internal assets and for global IP partners. MVS’s games and experiences are known for their innovative concepts, stunning visuals, and addictive gameplay. The cherry on top is the play-to-earn (P2E) mechanics that reward users with NFT’s and tokens for their engagement.

Overview
We’re looking for a highly-skilled 2D Concept Artist to join our growing team. Our ideal candidate is passionate about game development, has a keen eye for aesthetics, attention to detail, and loves to create high-quality inspiring artwork.
Role - As a 2D Concept Artist, you will report to the Lead Game Designer and the Creative Director to ensure the work fits cohesively into the studio’s creative vision. Your work will help the team build out amazing social hubs, games, and experiences in multiple metaverses.
Duties - Your main duty will be creating environments, characters, items, and more that express the creative vision of each project. You will also be asked to make artwork used for client proposal decks, marketing / social media content, and our official website.

Job requirements
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in creating 2D Concept Art for games and/or metaverses
A strong foundation in traditional art, color theory, composition, perspective, anatomy, architecture, and lighting
Ability to create both photo-realistic and stylized concepts as dictated by the project
Knowledge about general game design
Comfortable creating quick sketches on the fly, as well as polished, high-detailed pieces of work in different art styles
Clear communication, organized, and autonomous
Excellent written and spoken English
Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize effectively
Ability to learn in a fast environment and collaborate remotely via Discord, Zoom/Google Meet
Familiar with Google Workspace suite of products, including Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets
Nice to Have:
3D modeling, animation, and rendering experience
Prior experience with The Sandbox
Leadership experience
Knowledge about cryptogames and P2E business models
Knowledge about tokenomics and/or game incentive mechanisms
